So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some installation tips:
Wash wall and make sure it is free of moisture. For newlypainted walls let paint "cure" for 10 to 15 days prior to putting on decals. Even if new paint feels dry, it may nevertheless need to settle and totallycure. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not recommended on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very textured and porous surfaces, wallpaper or delicate surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to use on tile provided that the surface is clean and completelydry during installation. Be sure the design element does not overlap grout area as water couldleak under and compromise the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, provided that they are positionedfirmly onto the surface so watercan'treach under the decal. Once placed, RoomMates won'tmove even if sprayed by shower.
Vinyl wall decals should not be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they should not be positioned on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may cling to the adhesive and ruin the product. Also, neverplace at the base or inside the tub. Water could filterbeneath the wall decal too easily and would compromise the adhesive. When using, make sure you begin from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the rest of the element separate from the wall/surface. Slowly go down over the design with your hand and smooth the element onto area (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once placed you ought to be able to move any remaining bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the element. If the issuepersists (this would solelyhappen with the giant decals), you can punch a very small (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to drive the air out.
In all, it is alwaysbest to test wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface is uneven, performance could be seriouslydiminished. Make sure surface is thoroughly clean of dust and dirt or you may compromise the adhesive and damage the product. Family |
