So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some hints:
Wash wall and make sure it is dry. For newlypainted walls let paint "cure" for 10 to 15 days prior to putting on decals. Even if new paint feels dry, it may still need to settle and fullydry. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not recommended on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very textured and permeable surfaces, wallpaper or fragile surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to apply onto tile provided that the surface is clean and absolutelyfree of moisture during installation. Be certain the design element does not overlap grout area as water couldfilter under and damage the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, as long as they are positionedfirmly onto the surface area so wateris unable toreach under the decal. Once applied, RoomMates will notmove even if sprayed by shower.
Vinyl wall decals shouldn't be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they should not be positioned on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may stick to the adhesive and ruin the product. Also, do notput at the base or inside the tub. Water could seepunder the peel and stick too easily and would compromise the adhesive. When using, make sure you start from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the other parts of the element separate from the wall/surface. Slowly go straight down over the product with your hand and smooth the element onto area (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once applied you should be able to shift any leftover bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the section. If the issuepersists (this would solelyoccur with the giant decals), you can punch a very small (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to press the air out.
In all, it will always bebest to check wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface is uneven, effectiveness could be seriouslydiminished. Make sure surface is thoroughly clean of dust and dirt or you may damage the adhesive and wreck the product. Family |
