So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some hints:
Thoroughly clean wall and make sure it is dry. For newlypainted walls let paint "cure" for 10 to 15 days before to putting on decals. Even if new paint feels dry, it may continue to need to settle and fullycure. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not suggested on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very textured and porous surfaces, wallpaper or delicate surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to apply onto tile as long as the surface is clean and completelyfree of moisture during installation. Make sure the design element does not cover grout region as water could possiblyleak under and compromise the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, provided that they are positionedfirmly onto the surface area so wateris unable toreach under the sticker. Once applied, RoomMates should notshift even if sprayed by shower.
Vinyl wall decals shouldn't be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they must not be placed on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may cling to the adhesive and damage the merchandise. Also, do notposition at the bottom or inside the tub. Water could filterunderneath the design element too easily and would compromise the adhesive. When putting on, make sure you begin from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the rest of the element at a distance from the wall/surface. Slowly go straight down over the design with your hand and smooth the element onto area (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once placed you ought to be able to move any excess bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the element. If the difficultypersists (this would solelyoccur with the giant decals), you can punch a tiny (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to drive the air out.
In all, it will always bemost effective to check wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface is uneven, performance could be criticallyreduced. Make certain surface is clean of dust and dirt or you may compromise the adhesive and destroy the product. Family |
