So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some helpful hints:
Clean wall and make sure it is dried out. For recentlypainted walls let paint "thouroughly dry" for 10 to 15 days prior to putting on decals. Even if new paint feels dry, it may nevertheless need to settle and thoroughlycure. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not advised on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very textured and permeable surfaces, wallpaper or fragile surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to use on tile provided that the surface is thoroughly clean and absolutelydry during application. Make certain the design element does not overlap grout area as water mightleak under and damage the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, provided that they are placedsnugly onto the surface area so watercan'treach under the sticker. Once applied, RoomMates won'tshift even if sprayed by shower.
Vinyl wall decals should not be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they must not be positioned on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may cling to the adhesive and destroy the merchandise. Also, do notposition at the base or inside the tub. Water could seepbeneath the design element too easily and would compromise the adhesive. When applying, make sure you get started from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the rest of the element at a distance from the wall/surface. Slowly go down over the design with your hand and smooth the element onto area (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once applied you should be able to shift any leftover bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the section. If the problemcontinues (this would solelyoccur with the giant decals), you can punch a teeny (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to push the air out.
In all, it will always bebest to check wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface is textured, effectiveness could be significantlyreduced. Make certain surface is clean of dust and dirt or you may compromise the adhesive and damage the product. Family |
